ENS – National Security Scheme

* ENAC accredited service for el RD 3/2010.

The primary goal of the National Security Scheme is to guarantee security in the use of electronic media, adequately protecting all the information collected in data, systems, communications, and all types of digital tools. Establishing trust in these media lies in the ability to guarantee security.

The use of electronic media represents a new way for citizens and public administrations to exercise their rights and fulfill their duties. The private sector also enters this equation, which has relations with the administration and with citizens.

The great challenge of the ENS lies in the fact that, beyond guaranteeing the security of individual systems, it is necessary to guarantee the security of all the systems that interact, without leaving loopholes for information leaks and vulnerabilities.

Information Security certifications allow organizations to demonstrate their commitment to the modernization and digitalization of their information systems.

ENS Structure

The structure of this scheme, the ENS, is inspired by that of a management system, specifically information security (ISMS), based on the ISO 27001 standard. For this reason, having a certificate in this standard that covers the same scope greatly facilitates the achievement of accreditation in accordance with the ENS.

The ENS is regulated by Royal Decree 3/2010, of January 8 and was later modified by Royal Decree 951/2015. Its purpose is to create the necessary conditions of trust in the use of electronic media, through measures to guarantee the security of systems, data, communications, and electronic services, allowing citizens and Administrations public, the exercise of rights and the fulfillment of duties through these means.
