SDGs – Sustainable Development Goals

In 2015, the United Nations General Assembly took a major step forward by adopting a global compact for Sustainable Development. This ambitious compact sets out 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 targets covering economic, social and environmental dimensions.

Through this pact, a cross-cutting action plan is drawn up that calls on citizens, governments, companies and the third sector to commit to aligning and achieving these goals, generating a clear impact on the economy, society and the environment.

Businesses are considered key players in driving progress towards a more sustainable world, as they have the capacity to innovate, invest and transform their operations in ways that contribute significantly to the SDGs. To this end, we have developed a range of validation and verification services that ensure your organisation is on the right path to sustainability, with direct benefits.

Our aim is to make the alignment and contribution of your projects, strategies and certifications to the SDGs simple and effective.

From EQA we propose that the information requiring validation, verification or certification should be included in a Sustainability Report or in a separate report. In this way, the organization will have a document that will be presented in an organized and easily identifiable manner, in which the entity’s ESG criteria are developed, as well as its commitments to sustainable development. This will allow its visibility to the different stakeholders. In the case of SMEs or organizations that do not yet have any sustainability report, this document may be a first step in the reporting of these issues.

Memory Requirements

The report is structured in three blocks:

  • Definition of objectives, analysis of the context and identification of stakeholders, impacts and opportunities.
  • Proposal for monitoring, conclusions and commitment.
  • Evaluation, selection of SDGs and targets and quantitative and/or qualitative methodological proposal of the project.

To facilitate the preparation of this report, we provide the client with Guidelines for its preparation, based on Global Compact documents and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
